Trackr

TrackR
Small tracking device

The TrackR allows you to track a belonging with your phone. It is a small tracker that connects to a phone with just an app! You put a battery into the device, then get the app on your phone. Dont worry its free! Then, attach it to what you want to track. The website says ¨
Let´s say you want to track your car, simply hide the tiny device anywhere like under the floor mats, in the glove compartment or in the trunk. (Somewhere it won’t be found if your car gets stolen!)¨ You can put it on something like a bike, dog that runs away a lot, electronics, keys and much more.

The TrackR can be bought at its website https://www.thetrackr.com/. They ship it in about 4 days. It is buy one get 4 free. That's 5 for the price of 1! I would really recommend buying one if you lose things a lot.

I really like the TrackR because I lose things so much. It can help me and someone else with finding things that are important to you.

3-D Selfies for the New iPhone

There are rumors that the new iPhone can map out your face. Apple might consider making a camera designed for authentication and augmented reality for the next high-end iPhone. This camera can tell how far something is from the lens and it can even make a 3-D selfie. Adding a camera seems like a natural step for Apple because Microsoft and Samsung have been using facial features for years to unlock phones. Even though this can be a great idea, there can be problems. Sometimes the camera has problems recognizing nonwhite faces and features and somebody can hold a picture of somebody to the camera to unlock the device. Apple has focused many years on developing facial recognition technology. I think this is not a good idea because it will be easier for hackers to hack into people's devices.

Alexa's 10,000 Skills

Alexa now has 10,000 different skills and is taking over homes. She can create shopping lists, set timers, play music, order pizza, tell bedtime stories, play podcasts, give you medical advice, control your roomba, and soon be able to lock your doors, Alexa is taking over. I found this interesting because Alexa can do so much for your home improvement. She can do so many things and has something for everyone.

Fitbit

Along with tracking your steps and setting a fitness goal for you everyday, the Fitbit is now tracking your sleep. Over Many years Fitbit has tracked that the millions of fitbit users are only averaging 7 hours of sleep which is significantly lower than the estimated amount of sleep required according to the Centers of Disease Control. The fitbit now offers deeper sleep tracking on most of its devices. It is shifting from sensors to track when you are awake, when you are asleep, and when you are restless to using a heart rate sensor to clinically define the amount of time you were in the different stages of sleep. Also, the Fitbit Alta now offers a new and improved heart rate tracker and a much more compact battery that is now capable of staying charged for 7 days. The Apple Watch, one of Fitbit’s main competitors, has no where close to the capabilities of the fitbit. The Apple Watch has a charge that only lasts the day and needs to be charged overnight, causing it to have no way to track your sleep. Due to the fact that the Fitbit’s capabilities are sky high, it is currently the most popular wearable device on the market.

Emojis that crash your phone!

Did you know that if you send people three emojis, it can crash there phone? If you send someone the three emojis or do it on your phone, it can freeze the message and contacts app. The emojis are a white flag, a rainbow, and a 0. It only affects iphones with the ios 8- ios 10.2. Sometimes it will crash and you will have to restart it! It does not erase data or risk your messages. Make sure if you do this to a friend, they have a good sense of humor and know them  well so they don’t get mad at you! If your messages crashed, you can tell siri to send a text and that will work until your phone is fixed! I chose this because it seems like a good thing to do to my brother or something he would do to me. Click the link below to read more!

VW Sedric

Volkswagen has the plans for the future of driving, Sedric. Sedric stands for self-driving car. The interior is similar to a monorail, but private to you. Since Sedric is autonomous, it doesn’t need a steering wheel, pedals, or dashboard. This clears up a lot of room in the vehicle, making it more comfortable, and it can be cleaner. It has yellow seats and plants for decoration, and to purify the air. It also doesn’t need a windshield, so instead, it it has a giant OLED television. The television will tell you information about your surroundings with a Siri-like voice recognition assistant. To use and ride Sedric, all you need to do is press a button. You can have your own personal button, or you can share a Sedric with someone else. Other public Sedrics can be hailed with an app similar to Uber. Why the Nintendo Switch Was a Good Idea

Ever since its reveal in Tokyo on January 13th, people around the world have been eager for the release of the Nintendo Switch. It's very similar to the Wii U gamepad, except that you can take the Switch to more place than the gamepad. Some people think that the controllers for the Switch are a little too small, as for the screen of the switch, but after a while your hands get used to the size of the controllers. Just like with the Wii U gamepad, people complained about the large size of the controller but later they got used to it. And for the screen, you can hook it up to your TV and the game will appear on the TV and the Switch. The Switch is also very similar the Nintendo DS family, being a small, portable, device that you can take anywhere, except that it's two players. So if you're ever bored on a trip with your siblings, just bring along your Switch and play a little Mariokart 8! The only takeaway to the switch is the low battery life when it's not hooked up to a TV. The battery life drains at rated dependent of the game being played, but it loses life a lot faster when it's not hooked up to a TV then when it is. But to be honest, all the pro's outweigh the one possible con.

Siri or Alexa?

Siri or Alexa?

Siri and Alexa are both computer programs created by Apple (Siri), and Amazon (Alexa), to help people around the house, on the go, and anywhere else. While you can keep Siri with you anywhere, if you have an Apple phone, you can’t keep Alexa with you anywhere. Alexa can only stay at your house, but even though it has it’s limits, it has a better listening  than Siri. Often Siri will misunderstand what you say, whereas, Alexa will most probably listen properly even if you’re yelling across the room. Still, Siri has a major advantage since it can go anywhere. With Siri, you can ask her for anything, anywhere. Alexa, you really only use at home. While both of them have their advantages and disadvantages. But it’s up to the person to decide which is better.

The Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo switch is a fascinating new piece of technology. It costs $300. It is a 6.2-inch touchscreen that can connect to any of your T.V’s in your home, and you can take it on the go. The device comes with 2 “Joy-Con” controllers. Each controller has a joystick and a few face buttons. One of them has a home button. You can slip the controllers out of the device and play with them separately. You can also slide the controllers into the tablet and play from there. It does not have a long battery for an on the go device. When playing with detached Joy-Cons, there is occasionally an interruption in the Joy-Con’s responses.  Even though there are some problems with the Nintendo switch, it is an amazing piece of new technology that will make it much easier to play video games on the go.

A helping hand in activities around the house?

A helping hand in activities around the house?

Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Massachusetts now offers a new way to help you with your home projects: Virtual Reality. Now customers are welcome to use the headset and controls to learn how to use the tools to improve their home. Lowe’s hopes to spread the headset station to other stores.

Lowe’s Home Improvement store wants people to have the right to a happy and beautiful home. People may just hire carpenters to do the job for them but Lowe’s wants people to know they can do it themselves. Offering the supplies for the job, many people buy them, but don’t know how use the tools, which leads them to give up on house projects. The department store now allows people a way to learn how to improve their home other than Youtube videos and DIYs. 36% of people who have used the V.R. headset had a better turnout than people who winged it. Lowe’s now hoped with this new idea to reverse trends and show families that home improvement is possible by yourself.

AppleÅ› New Invention?!

Apparently apple is up to something new again! All we know is that it’s not a new iPhone! Well, residents of Sunny dale reported strange noises coming out of a mysterious Apple facility late at night. The noise came from Apple when they leased an enormous, 5,000-acre, abandoned military base to use as testing grounds according to Tech Insider. It must be something big because the company's Research and development budget went through the roof to more than 50 times as much money as Apple spent to develop the original iPhone! Cisco thinks it will be a $19 trillion market before 2025. General Electric sees a huge opportunity bigger than ChinaÅ› entire economy! What do you think? Do you think apple can afford this huge project? What do you think AppleÅ› secret creation project is?

Here is where I found everything.  http://www.mercurynews.com/2016/02/24/apple-silent-on-mysterious-noises-from-sunnyvale-complex/

Migrating humans may have killed off Neanderthals by accident

"Humans migrating out of Africa would have been a significant reservoir of tropical diseases," said Charlotte Houldcroft from the University of Cambridge's Division of Biological Anthropology, in a statement. "For the Neanderthal population of Eurasia, adapted to that geographical environment, exposure to new pathogens carried out of Africa may have been catastrophic."
DNA results are in: Early humans and Neanderthals made babies togetherNeanderthal tools present new challenges to archaeologists
Researchers at Cambridge and Oxford Brookes universities analyzed DNA from ancient bones and pathogen genomes. They concluded that some infectious diseases are probably thousands of years older than originally thought. They think Helicobacter pylori, a strain of bacteria that causes stomach ulcers, likely infected humans for the first time in Africa at least 88,000 years ago and first arrived in Europe about 52,000 years ago. But recent evidence suggests that Neanderthals became extinct about 40,000 years ago, supporting this new theory that modern humans are responsible for killing off Neanderthals.
"Once agriculture came along, these diseases had the perfect conditions to explode, but they were already around," said Houldcroft.
Researchers say that the infections would not have all happened at once, as they did when Christopher Columbus and other Europeans arrived in the Americas and killed off the native people. Instead, they would have spread between small groups of about 15 to 30, weakening them and making it nearly impossible to survive.
Many theories exist to explain the demise of the Neanderthal population, including climate change, human cognitive superiority, competition for food due to humans hunting with dogs and wolves, and direct competition and violence between humans and Neanderthals, said Houldcroft.

Virtual Reality Glove

Virtual Reality is an experience of going into the game you play. What if instead of being inside the game you feel what's inside of the game. As much as we enjoy virtual reality these days. There is something that allows you to feel what's in the game I think that's pretty called the Virtual Reality Glove. What the glove does is it tricks your fingers into thinking that what you're feeling is real which could bring the emotional level. It's not clear when this will be available in the public but there already looking at other uses like physical rehab and drone control.

Are Samsung Smart TV’s All Ears

Own a Samsung TV, well if you do you might want to be all ears on this one and by the way, don’t stand by your TV reading this it might hear. Wondering what I’m talking about, I’m talking about how people might be able to see or hear all your very personal and very private conversations. Samsung smart TVs that have cool features such as voice recognition, Motion sensors, or cameras might be eavesdropping on your conversations. Samsung is not the one that is eavesdropping, but its TVs are and the tv store the data at Samsung, Samsung claims that this data is stored so that the tv can better suit your tastes by suggesting different movies and tv shows. When you buy a tv you are amazed when you hear that your new tv will be able to do things by listening to your voice or and the motion of your hand, but you may be less amazed when you hear that the CIA is using this data to stalk you. Samsung storing the data is not a problem but if this data is ever hacked these hackers will be able to listen to your conversations and will also be able to see you through the smart cam on your tv. Talk about creepy!

Ways to protect yourself, the duct debate defense. By putting duct tape on your smart cam they won't be able to see you but what about the eavesdropping on your conversations. To turn off this eavesdropping feature go to your settings and turn off the voice recognition feature. Overall whenever you want to have secretive discussions unplug your TV. I hope this was helpful, Samsung users!

Back to the present

Retro video games have always interested me because of how wacky they are, and not many people I know have the slightest idea on how they work. But enough about me let’s get right to the point. Now back in 1985 this revolutionary product hit the shelves nowadays most people my age say “Why would anyone want that it looks horrible!” sure 8-bit is not much but back then it was the BOMB it looked SO realistic (at the time). And now you can buy a revamped version of this you can play all the original games minus the cords and at max 720p. But is nostalgia really worth $450? That is your choice, but remember that you still need the original cartridges to play the games. So if you want a blast to the past when console gaming was just being pioneered but with the tech of present then this is the product for you.

Siri or Alexa?

Siri or Alexa

The Amazon Echo Dot
Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri and fighting towards the same finish line. Siri was launched in 2011 with Apple’s iPhone 4s. Alexa was recently released in 2014 as part of the Amazon echo. Siri may be considered more convenient by some because she is built into your phone. She is portable and can be used on the go. Rather than being having to run back into your kitchen so Alexa can hear you. You may not be able to bring Alexa everywhere and in power or network outages she may not be very helpful, but she does have very good accuracy when you are yelling a command from farther away.

Image result for siri
Siri on the iPhone
Apple has added Siri to many of its devices, she started on the iPhone 4s, then the iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, then just last year, she was added to the Mac. Because some versions are different in various devices, she doesn’t do all of the same things. When Alexa initiated, she was not a huge hit because she was only stationed at home. However, Amazon expanded Alexa’s ability and created the Alexa Voice Service and the Amazon Lex, which allows other companies to program Alexa so she can control their product. As for languages, Apple made Siri international almost immediately. Siri can now speak 21 languages. Amazon’s Alexa is not as advanced in the language industry, as of now, she can only speak English and German. So, what is your opinion, Siri or Alexa?

GoPro Kamara

GoPro Kamara Recall
The Kamara has been recalled because it has been falling out of the sky in mid-flight. Although this has been happening to the Kamara it is still a well-priced drone that provides good stable video while hovering up to 3280 ft (1,000 m) and flying up to 35mph.

Kamara Drone
The maximum speed of the drone is 35 mph (15 m/s), the maximum flight altitude goes up to 10,500ft (3,200m), Maximum wind resistance goes up to 22 mph and the Maximum Distance goes up to 9,840ft (3,000m).

Battery Life and prices
The battery lives for up to 20 minutes, sometimes 17 minutes. The battery type is a Li-Po. It costs $799 for the drone, Grip handheld mount, display-integrated controller and a backpack case. A battery, charger, six propellers and required mounts are also here.

The CIA Might be Stalking You, according to Wikileaks

Just recently, WikiLeaks has posted documents that prove that the CIA are stalking people via hacked devices. More specifically, desktop computers, mobile phones and tablets, network routers, Smart TVs, antivirus software, presidential Twitter accounts, and apps like Confide, Signal, Telegram, and WhatsApp. Through these devices, the CIA have been recording conversations and fingerprints for potentially years. The CIA are also finding ways to spy on other countries if owners of the devices travel there with their devices, planting a permanent base in that country. So far, they have gotten information from Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. This might not just be fake information, however. The Wall Street Journal comments on these leaked documents, confirming that they are legitimate.

Apple's New IPhone

Apple is thinking to come out with an iPhone 8 in 2017. They are thinking about coming out with 3 different models of the new iPhone. It will be 5.5 in. and will have features that the 7s and 7s plus don’t have. Fast Company thinks that it will be 5.8 in. and cost $1000. Nikkei Asian Review thinks that the iPhone will be OLED and be similar to the Samsung’s Galaxy S7. OLED screens are known for vibrant colors and inky blacks and they found that it will have longer battery life. The iPhone 8 will be wireless charging so you can charge it anywhere also.

Amazon wants to ship packages to the Moon

Amazon is going to try to start delivering packages to the moon, but why? Amazon wants to ship inflatable "habitats" for future settlers. They would store equipment, resources, and human personnel. The founder of Bigelow Aerospace, Robert Bigelow, states that the "habitats" should be ready in about three years. "It is time for America to return to the Moon -- this time to stay," Bezos told the publication. "A permanently inhabited lunar settlement is a difficult and worthy objective. I sense a lot of people are excited about this."
"Our liquid hydrogen expertise and experience with precision vertical landing offer the fastest path to a lunar lander mission," Bezos says. "I'm excited about this and am ready to invest my own money alongside NASA to make it happen." NASA has not ventured to the moon since 1972. However they do encourage companies to invest in spaceflight.
Benzo also states that the first delivery should be made as early as July 2020, but only if he has support from NASA.

Snapchat Spectacles

Many people are familiar with the app snapchat. Snapchat has made a new invention called the snapchat Spectacles. The Spectacles are a pair of glasses that you buy from a bot. The bots are rectangular shaped and have an electric touch screen in the front as a shape of an eye. They attach balloons on the top of the bot to make the illusion that the bot flew out of the sky. In side of the bot holds the spectacles. Spectacles are a pair of glasses that have cameras on each side of the lens. They hook up to snapchat and you can take 30 second videos where ever you go. These are convenient because then you see something cool you don't have to pull out your phone unlock it and go to the snapchat app you can just press on the side of the glasses and it takes a video or picture without the hassle. The glasses come in a yellow case that you can hold your spectacles in and a charger. It depends on the person but I think these are a helpful tool. You just have to invest in something this cool.
