UPS Delivering Drones

To make delivering packages easier in the spaced out rural areas, UPS has tested using drones. They would still have drivers delivering to keep jobs and refill the drones, but they would plan to meet the drones halfway between their two destinations. After the drone delivers it's package it will meet up with the UPS truck, receive a new delivery, and get launched again to start the process over again. This idea is used to cut down on time in delivering packages in rural spread out locations.

Not just UPS is doing this. Other companies like; Zip Line, Domino's Pizza, and Amazon are using drones to deliver and transport their items. Unfortunately, individual drone delivery isn't legal yet in this country. Many people believe that using robots and drones will lower the amount of jobs in a company. I think that it could decrease the amount of people driving in UPS, but those people could get more jobs working with the robots and drones. Building, fixing, and launching them will require a lot more people that could make up for the jobs that were lost for driving them. I also believe that the UPS would never use only drones. They want to do this for more spread out areas to make delivering packages easier and quicker, but in the suburban and urban areas they probably will use a limited amount of drones and stick with trucks.
